Client

Our client, Crop Insurance Services (CIS), is an industry association that provides loss adjustment services for member companies. Due to retirement, CIS is now searching for a new Executive Officer.

Role and responsibilities

In partnership with the Board, the Executive Officer is responsible for the success of CIS in achieving its objectives. The Executive Officer is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the association. The association employs an Office Manager and has 68 assessors who assess crop damage. Other responsibilities for the role include strategic planning, budgeting, data collection & analysis, corporate governance and compliance and public relations.

Skills requirements

  • Prior experience in agribusiness (eg. rural banking, grain trading) or agronomy is highly regarded
  • Experience in a corporate environment or in corporate governance would be a distinct advantage
  • Must be a systems thinker, customer-focused and goal-driven as well as being action-oriented and able to anticipate and solve problems, take advantage of opportunities and be a self-starter and team player
  • Demonstrated experience in integrating and coordinating diverse areas of management, including strategy development, planning, finance and personal presentation skills
  • Effective leadership skills are essential, most importantly in living CIS values, mission and vision, displaying integrity, modelling behaviour and team building, along with the capacity to deal effectively with demanding situations

Remuneration and location

The role has a highly attractive remuneration package that reflects the seniority of this role. The remuneration package includes a generous salary, bonus and car allowance. The location is flexible and can be regional (but is required to be on the East Coast and close to an airport).
