At Awesome Women in Construction (AWIC), we provide a supportive community for women in the construction industry. We are a non-profit association dedicated to personal and professional development, confidence building, and brand growth for the organisations our members represent. Our members range from small independent businesses to global organisations and work for multinational corporations and state-based building companies. Our vision is to have women leading, driving, and supporting the growth of the construction industry.

Role Description

This is a part-time role for a Chairperson located in the Greater Brisbane Area. The Chairperson will be responsible for leading the organisation, representing AWIC at industry events, guiding strategic direction, supporting member engagement and development, and ensuring effective governance and compliance. The Chairperson will provide leadership to the Board of Directors, facilitate meetings, and work closely with stakeholders and partners to advance the mission and vision of AWIC.

Qualifications

  • Leadership and Management skills
  • Strategic Planning and Organisational Development skills
  • Excellent Communication and Public Speaking skills
  • Experience in Governance and Compliance in a non-profit setting
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills
  • Knowledge of the construction industry and women's advocacy
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, or related field
  • Experience in non-profit management is a plus
