About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Officer to assist in maintaining the building and grounds of this state-of-the-art building to a high standard, having regard for the comfort and wellbeing of residents and advising on replacement or repairs as required.

Skills and Requirements for this Role:

  • Experience in building maintenance and gardening, landscaping
  • Knowledge of Aged Care industry is desirable
  • Thorough understanding of all legislative requirements pertaining to maintenance and repairs i.e. OH&S & Fire/Evacuation
  • Ability to perform a wide variety of tasks including use of tools and equipment
  • Willingness to be contribute to after-hours maintenance requirements from time to time
  • Excellent communication skills and respect for residents and colleagues
  • Previous experience working autonomously with limited direction
  • Be able to make decisions about costs and priorities and documenting a full plan for work to be completed
  • Supervise and monitor grounds and systems
  • Contribute to the support of aged care residents by providing quality service as required, and with respect to dignity and privacy.

Essential:

  • Victorian drivers license
  • Reliable, strong work ethic
  • Valid police check, less than 12 months old

Preferred:

  • Trade Qualification e.g. Landscaping or OHS Qualification is advantageous
