Extruder Operator

We are seeking Operators with experience in running extrusion lines (of any type, does not need to be experienced specifically in cable production, although it is advantageous). We have multiple positions available for this role based in Western Suburb (Tottenham) of Melbourne.

We provide fibre optic solutions to the Service Provider, Hyperscale, Energy Utility, Enterprise and Industrial markets.

About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Preparing and setting up extrusion lines for production
• Reviewing special instructions/process cards, prioritising work as allocated, checking the diameter, length, thickness, colour, quality and quantity, calculating temperature and material of cables
• Performing in-process optical testing of fibres
• Changing drums, cable winding, watching, flaking and monitoring
• As required assist with general warehousing duties such as packing, counting, labelling, unloading and loading trucks

The successful applicant must possess good communication skills and basic mathematical capability, attention to detail, enjoy working in manufacturing and see safety as the number one priority at all times.

We will provide onsite training and professional development to the selected candidate.

It will be advantageous if you have a forklift licence.

The shortlisted candidate will be required to participate in a Pre-Employment Medical Assessment.

Week 1 (Mon/Tue Off.   Wed, Thu, Fri Day shifts 6am – 6pm)

Week 2 (Mon, Tue, Wed Night shifts 6pm – 6am.  Thu/Fri Off)

Week 3 (Mon/Tue Day shifts 6am – 6pm.  Wed Off.  Thu/Fri Nights Shifts 6pm – 6am)
