About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced IBM Power Engineer with hands-on experience in IBM Power System S G) for an on-call role. You will provide technical support outside regular business hours, assisting with tickets and critical incidents to ensure our IBM Power Systems environment remains stable and operational.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the on-call IBM Power Engineer, responding to critical incidents and support requests outside business hours.
  • Assist in resolving tickets and technical issues raised by internal IT teams or end-users.
  • Monitor and maintain IBM Power System S922 servers and associated environments.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, operating systems (AIX, IBM i, or Linux on Power), and virtualization (PowerVM, LPARs) issues.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure high availability and performance of business-critical workloads.
  • Document incidents, resolutions, and procedures for ongoing reference.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience with IBM Power System S G).
  • Strong knowledge of AIX, IBM i, or Linux on Power operating systems.
  • Experience in troubleshooting, performance tuning, and system optimization.
  • Familiarity with PowerVM and LPAR configurations.
  • Ability to work independently and respond quickly under pressure.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with IBM Power System HMC (Hardware Management Console).
  • Scripting knowledge (Bash, KornShell, Python) for automation.
  • Relevant IBM certifications (e.g., IBM Certified Specialist – Power Systems).
