About the Company

Grand Canyon Shooters (GCS) is one of Arizona's largest drill and blasting companies, with operations ranging from civil construction to quarries and mines.

We are looking for experienced Drill Supervisors to join our team who are experienced with:

  • Sandvik DX800 Rangers (or equivalent)

  • Sandvik DX900i (or equivalent)

  • Sandvik DX910i (or equivalent)

  • Sandvik DP1500i Panteras (or equivalent)

We are seeking driller supervisors who can:

  • Supervise on-site operations and perform blast hole drilling operations.

  • Supervise geotechnical drilling operations.

  • Plan, prepare, and perform blast hole drilling operations.

  • Initiate blast hole drilling operations - monitor, adjust, communicate, and report on the execution of blast hole drilling operations.

  • Supervise and train junior drillers.

  • Implement and monitor environmental policies.

  • Plan and supervise the mobilization of equipment, crew, and materials.

  • Apply site risk management.

  • Follow OSHA and MSHA guidelines to maintain a safe work environment on the construction site.

  • Manage non-routine and complex technical situations.

We require that you:

  • GCS is only able to sponsor Australians on the E3 visa at this time. All Australian applicants must meet all eligibility requirements of the E3 visa. Possess a four-year Bachelor of mining degree (with drilling), or the equivalent of three years of experience per a degree year substituted.

  • Individuals with the right to work in the US may apply for this role. Those with lesser qualifications and experience (with the right to work in the US) can be considered for non-supervisory driller roles.

  • Ability to lift and carry 50Ibs/25 kgs in hot climate conditions.

  • Willingness to travel and work in Arizona and Colorado.

  • Ability to pass an FBI background check, drug and alcohol screening, and undergo Arizona and Colorado required job safety training.

Preferred:

  • A driller supervisor with blasting qualifications and experience (different pay scale for a driller who can also perform blasting duties).

  • Experience with Australian mining companies.

  • Civil blasting/construction experience.

  • Drill maintenance experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $27.00 per hour - scaled on experience and qualifications

Expected hours: 35 – 55 per week

Schedule:

  • Day shift

  • Nights as needed

  • Overtime

  • Weekends as needed
