About the role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Machinist 1st Class to join our dynamic team at Global Manufacturing Group in Maryborough, QLD. As a Machinist 1st Class, you will play a crucial role in our manufacturing operations, using your expertise to operate and maintain a range of machinery and equipment to the highest standards. This is a full-time position, offering the opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of our well-established company.

What you'll be doing

• Operate and maintain a variety of metalworking CNC machines such as lathes, milling machines with high precision and efficiency
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and work orders to ensure accurate and compliant production
• Perform machine setups, adjustments and calibrations to ensure optimal performance and quality output
• Monitor machine operations and troubleshoot any issues, making necessary adjustments and repairs to maintain productivity
• Ensure all work is completed within specified timelines and to the highest quality standards
• Collaborate with the production team to identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment, following all relevant health and safety protocols

What we're looking for

• Completed trade qualifications in Fitting, Turning or Machining, with a minimum of 5 years' relevant experience
• Excellent technical skills, with the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and work orders
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues quickly
• Commitment to maintaining high levels of quality, safety and efficiency in all aspects of your work
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
• Australian work rights are required for this position
