Ranier Schoolwear is looking for a motivated and experienced Area Manager to lead our dedicated team and oversee multiple on campus and standalone School Uniform Shops and the online division.
About Us
Ranier Schoolwear is subsidiary of the Charles Parsons Group, an Australian privately owned family company that was established in 1915. Our Company has a rich history in designing, manufacturing and supplying school uniforms to both the retail and wholesale channels.
We are excited to welcome the successful candidate to join us in the Schoolwear Division. The successful candidate will help us in providing and ensuring excellent customer service to our school communities supporting the continued growth of the business.
About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager, this role will involve working closely alongside our Shop Managers and their staff to drive the overall business and provision of School Uniforms. You will lead and develop our teams in our Uniform Shops, motivating and equipping them with the knowledge to deliver excellent customer service in fulfilling the needs of our school communities.
A typical day will include:
- Management of multi-site on campus and standalone Retail Shops working alongside our Shop managers and their teams.
- Liaise with Store Managers with regard to business planning, regular performance reporting and updates on Store activity.
- Conduct regular store visits to support the needs of the business as well as the training and onboarding of store managers.
- Ensuring stores are staffed appropriately including the recruitment of shop managers, rostering and training of shops is done in accordance with the needs and policies of the business
- Develop a high-performance team culture.
- Create a strong customer service centric mindset throughout the entire retail business, including liaising with all stakeholders to keep abreast of any issues that may arise.
- Performance management, training, development and succession planning for the team.
- Inventory management by retail location, ensuring a high degree of accuracy including the management of annual and rolling stocktakes of all retail facilities.
- Educate the retail team of new products and services.
- Own the online deliverables and schools expectations.
To be considered for the position you must have the following skills:
- At least 5 years' experience in multi-site retail leadership is essential.
- Experience in Schoolwear or Uniforms is preferred but not essential.
- Exceptional communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in ensuring customer centric outcomes.
- Experience with cash management best practices and controls
- Previous experience motivating, organising and developing a team.
- Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.
- Must be self-motivated with an active 'hands on' approach and a 'can do' attitude, and be willing to work instore alongside our existing teams .
- Strong computer literacy.
- Must have a current driver's licence and be available for travel.
