About Us

Australian Healthcare Associates (AHA) is Australia's largest specialist health and human services consultancy. Now in our 34th year, we partner with federal, state and territory governments to improve health and social outcomes for Australians by delivering evaluations, reviews and program administration engagements of major national importance.

AHA's story is all about its people. We pride ourselves on our supportive and inclusive culture, and on the vision, creativity, and drive of our staff. Our high-performing team of passionate and talented individuals works collaboratively to deliver great outcomes for our clients.

You will be joining an organisation that is very involved in ensuring that Victoria's children and young people with disabilities and additional needs receive the inclusion support they need to participate in their education on the same basis as their peers.

About the role

The KIS program provides additional funding to government-funded Victorian kindergartens to support the access and participation of children with disability or developmental delay and high support needs. Kindergartens can apply for additional support under one of the following programs:

  • Kindergarten Inclusion Support Program – Disability
  • Kindergarten Inclusion Support Program – Complex Medical Needs.

The casual assessor is responsible for assessing applications from kindergarten services as per guidelines set by the Department of Education (DE) and determining the support to be provided to kindergartens.

As a casual assessor you will:

  • Conduct high-quality assessments in accordance with program guidelines and DE contract
  • Work in collaboration with their team leader as well as other assessors to ensure consistency and quality of assessments
  • Ensure assessments are completed in a timely fashion to achieve program objectives and support service level monitoring and reporting against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and to ensure required outcomes and performance measures are met
  • Work collaboratively to identify opportunities for service development and quality improvement
  • Participate in regular supervision, professional support, and guidance as provided by the KIS assessment team leader
  • Attend regular training and practice development events as required, including attending in person

Qualifications & experience:

  • Qualifications as an Allied Health professional (Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, Speech Pathologist)
  • Eligibility for registration with AHPRA or equivalent professional body
  • 5+ years of experience working in/with early childhood education services

Skills:

  • Detailed knowledge of child development, developmental delay and disabilities
  • Understanding of a strengths-based approach to inclusion
  • Detailed knowledge of the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework
  • Excellent attention to detail combined with an ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to exercise sound and rapid decision-making
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management skills

On offer:

  • Very attractive hourly rate $90.77/hour + 12% superannuation

  • Hybrid working model – work from home and the office

If you have the necessary skills and experience and are interested in working with us, then we'd like to hear from you now.

To apply please upload your CV and a cover letter outlining how your skills and experience align with the requirements of the role.
