Perth, Western Australia GEMS Prep School of Early Nurturing Full time $75,000 - $85,000 per year

Geographe Early Movement Services, trading as GEMS Prep School in Dunsborough, Western Australia, is a locally owned Long Day Care service. We are currently seeking Room Leaders, either Diploma qualified or working towards their qualification will be accepted. We have full time positions available and no experience is required.

The salary range will be between $75000 to $85000 depending on your experience and qualifications.

The successful candidate employed as a Room Leader, will be responsible for the supervision, care and education of children within the centre. Duties and responsibilities of the role include; preparing, implementing and evaluating developmentally appropriate programs for individual children and/or groups of children, completing observations of child development for programming and planning purposes; creating a safe, nurturing and age appropriate environment; general cleaning of rooms and bathrooms; following our centres Philosophy; communicating with parents in both verbal and written forms; attending staff meetings as required; organising excursions and stimulating learning opportunities; ensuring the outdoor and indoor learning environments are treated equally; reporting to the Director on OHS, illnesses, hazards and other areas as deemed important to the Director; working in a team and supporting your collegues. The position also includes working with the families to ensure we are providing a caring and nurturing environment and ensuring all allergies and medical conditions are up to date. You will also be required to direct your colleagues in completing tasks and work in a team environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Certificate 3 in Early Childhood Education and Care
  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (working towards accepted)
  • Current working with Children's Check
  • Current First Aid HLTAID004 & HLTAID001
  • Sound verbal and Written Skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Essential Attributes for the role:

  • Able to work within a team environment.
  • Knowledge and relevant skills in documenting children's learning through observations.
  • Knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework, National Quality Framework and National Regulations
  • Ability to form and maintain professional relationships with families, children and other Educators
