As a Technical Draftsperson (Set Fabrication), you will be a vital part of the Backstage crew, responsible for translating complex design concepts into the precise technical drawings needed to build these elaborate, world-class immersive environments. The Role: Technical Draftsperson (Set Fabrication)

We're looking for a meticulous and experienced Technical Draftsperson (Set Fabrication) to join our production team. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in translating design concepts into precise technical drawings for both in-house and off-site manufacturing and installation. You'll be responsible for creating the detailed blueprints that guide our production and construction teams, ensuring accuracy and efficiency at every stage of our unique escape room builds.

Key Responsibilities

• The Technical Draftsperson will perform a variety of crucial drafting and documentation tasks, including:
• Design Development: Develop detailed preliminary, planning, and final working drawings required for local workshop fabrication and external, off-site production facilities, focusing on escape room sets, interactive props, and scenic elements.
• Installation Planning: Create practical and accurate floorplans and wall elevations specifically for the installation of our themed puzzles and room installations, ensuring clear guidance for on-site construction and theming teams.
• Documentation Management: Organize, maintain, and archive all drawing files and design documentation in a systematic manner to ensure version control and easy retrieval for current and future room builds.
• Material Specification: Generate comprehensive stock lists and bills of materials (BOMs) based on the working drawings to support local production and procurement of set construction and scenic materials.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the design, carpentry, engineering, and backstage tech teams to resolve technical issues and incorporate feedback into drawings, maintaining the company's "Total Immersion" standard.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Essential

• Proficiency in AutoCAD: Demonstrated expertise and professional experience using AutoCAD to produce high-quality, precise technical drawings and documentation for fabrication and construction.
• Technical Acumen: Strong understanding of drafting principles, manufacturing processes (e.g., carpentry, fabrication, joinery), and set construction/installation methods.
• Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to maintain accuracy and consistency across complex drawing sets.
• Organisational Skills: Excellent skills in file management, version control, and maintaining a clear, well-organized digital drawing library.

Highly Desirable

• 3D Software Experience: Proficiency in Solidworks and/or Autodesk Fusion 360 is a significant advantage for modelling props and complex puzzle mechanisms.
• Relevant Experience: Previous experience drafting for custom scenic fabrication, themed entertainment, theatre, or architectural millwork is a strong plus.
