Amentum is seeking a skilled Tradesperson to join our dedicated team in Alice Springs, supporting residential maintenance operations under the Vesta contract. About the Role

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor and working closely with the Senior Maintenance Officer, you'll be responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, and renovations across residential properties in Alice Springs. This includes carpentry, tiling, landscaping, fencing, and more. Occasional after-hours callouts may be required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a wide range of maintenance tasks including carpentry, tiling, patching and painting, fencing, paving, and landscaping.
  • Support other trades and personnel across facilities and maintenance operations.
  • Conduct regular inspections and complete tasks aligned with your qualifications and experience.
  • Operate machinery and tools safely and professionally.
  • Record and plan work using computer systems.
  • Report incidents promptly and uphold safety standards in all activities.
  • Work collaboratively within a team and follow direction from the Vesta management team.
What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Trade Certificate in Carpentry or Joinery/Cabinetry.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in general maintenance tasks.
  • Current Driver's Licence.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Basic computer literacy for task tracking and reporting.
  • Commitment to safety and professional conduct.

Desirable:

  • NT WorkSafe High-Risk Work Licence – Boom Type EWP.
  • Experience in electrical or plumbing trades.
  • Safety training including confined space, working at heights, PPE, and trench safety.
Work Environment
  • Outdoor work in varying weather conditions from cold winters to hot summers.
  • Physical tasks including digging, trenching, landscaping, and fencing.
Security Requirements

This role requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) Department of Defence Security Clearance. Applicants must be Australian citizens, at least 18 years of age, and fluent in English.
