Role Overview:

We have an exhilarating opportunity for a Placement and Simulation Lab Coordinator at Stanley College In this dynamic role, you'll be at the helm of creating an innovative and supportive learning environment that seamlessly bridges classroom theory with real-world clinical practice.

  • Opportunity: Potential to step into a Trainer and Assessor role if operational needs align and you hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE)

Responsibilities:

  • Laboratory Management and Coordination: Set up and prepare the nursing laboratory for practical skills sessions, ensuring all equipment and supplies are ready and available and maintain a comprehensive inventory of lab equipment, materials, and consumables, ordering supplies as needed.Inspire and manage a dynamic nursing faculty, promoting a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Equipment and Resource Management: Monitor the condition and functionality of lab equipment, arranging for repairs or replacements as necessary and manage the calibration and testing of equipment to meet clinical training standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about advancements in nursing equipment and training tools to ensure the lab remains up to date with industry standards and provide feedback on lab operations and suggest improvements to enhance the learning environment.
  • Industry Engagement and Relationship Building: Cultivate and sustain collaborative relationships with clinical placement providers to ensure high-quality placement opportunities.
  • Student Support and Development: Provide end-to-end support to students during clinical placements and lab sessions, from preparation to completion and conduct pre-placement briefings to set clear expectations, ensuring students are well-prepared for their clinical experiences.

About You:

  • Relevant qualification in Nursing (Diploma of Nursing or higher) and extensive experience in a clinical or laboratory setting.
  • A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is desirable.
  • Extensive experience working in a clinical environment or managing a nursing laboratory, showcasing familiarity with practical and theoretical aspects of nursing education
  • Experience in the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector
  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
  • Deep knowledge of the use and maintenance of clinical nursing equipment and tools, including experience with calibration, safety checks, and troubleshooting
  • Ability to effectively manage and oversee simulation lab operations, ensuring all equipment and resources are in optimal working condition and aligned with educational goals
  • Exceptional attention to detail, particularly in maintaining accurate records, compliance documentation, and ensuring adherence to health and safety standards
  • A supportive and student-focused mindset, dedicated to creating a positive and enriching learning experience
