The Opportunity:
This is a six-month full-time opportunity based at our Refinery site, ideally commencing in early October. The role comes at a pivotal time, with multiple engineering projects reaching key stages and demanding focused, hands-on leadership. You'll be stepping into a fast-paced environment where your ability to manage complexity, drive outcomes, and maintain high standards will be essential.
You'll be responsible for planning, managing, and delivering engineering projects that improve operational capability, reliability, quality, and safety. Working closely with Senior Project Engineers, you'll ensure that all activities meet occupational health and safety regulations, environmental standards, and technical requirements. You'll coordinate with external contractors, maintain engineering systems and documentation, and liaise with internal stakeholders to align project execution with production needs.
This is a role for someone who thrives under pressure, embraces responsibility, and is ready to make a tangible impact in a short timeframe. You'll be expected to lead with clarity, uphold safety and confidentiality, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
About You:
You're a proactive and capable engineer with a strong foundation in project delivery and a drive for operational excellence. You hold a tertiary qualification in engineering, complemented by project management credentials. Your experience in project engineering – ideally within a plant or process-based environment, has equipped you with the skills to manage timelines, budgets, and technical deliverables with confidence.
You understand how to interpret complex engineering information, perform accurate calculations, and produce clear documentation. You're comfortable navigating regulatory frameworks, coordinating with contractors, and working across internal teams to meet production and safety goals. Your communication skills are strong, your problem-solving mindset is sharp, and your ability to manage competing priorities is well established.
You bring emotional intelligence, sound judgment, and a commitment to doing things the right way. You're proficient in engineering systems and the Microsoft suite, and you understand the importance of maintaining confidentiality and minimising environmental impact. Above all, you're someone who gets things done – with precision, purpose, and professionalism.
