Who we are and what we do?

Perilya Broken Hill Limited manages underground mining operations, extracting Lead and Zinc ore for processing to produce Lead and Zinc concentrates for sale to smelters and refineries in Australia and Asia.

The Lead and Zinc concentrates are produced using the conventional ore treatment processes of crushing, grinding, flotation and filtration. The filtered concentrates are loaded into rail wagons, on site, for transport to our storage and ship loading facility in Port Pirie. The residue from the ore processing plant is used for filling voids from the underground mining operation, and for disposal to the tailing's storage facility.

The opportunity

We are recruiting for a Surface Operator Processing, to work in our Lead and Zinc ore processing plant. The Surface Operator attends to the fixed plant in the crushing, grinding, flotation, and filtration sections. The duties include:

• Monitoring and keeping the fixed plant operational so that production targets are met
• Recording, and reporting on, the operational status of the fixed plant
• Attending to interruptions in the operation of the fixed plant
• Maintaining the fixed plant in a safe and well-kept condition as possible

The Surface Operator Processing works a continuous shift roster of 7 on 7 off day and night shift. There is paid overtime work available.
