The Loss Prevention Officer is responsible for detecting and investigating shoplifting, fraud in retail establishments.

The successful candidate will have the flexibility to work on a rotating roster.

Other duties include:

  • Apprehend offenders and call police.
  • Strive to prevent theft of and malicious damage to the store's products.
  • Support team members and other security services at all times.
  • Deter theft and report missing assets.
  • Respond to emergency situations.
  • Risk identification and issue resolution.
  • The ability and confidence to work both autonomously and in a team environment.
  • Produce quality reports.

Skills and experience

  • Current Security License
  • First Aid Certificate highly desirable
  • Proven experience in the Loss Prevention and/or Retail industries.
  • Excellent observation skills.
  • Ability to identify patterns and potential behaviors leading to theft.
  • Excellent presentation and grooming standards
  • A Positive and Proactive Approach
  • Demonstrated experience in conflict resolution
  • Evening & weekend availability are essential
  • Strong written communication skills, including incident report writing.
  • Ability to multitask and work autonomously in high paced team environment
  • High Attention to detail
  • Previous loss prevention and retail experience is highly desirable.
