Senior R&D Technician

The role 

This role is a part of our team focused on development of products and services within the Business Unit Global Products, and as Senior R&D Technician you will prototype and test new products and services for Ground Support Division and maintain current assortment. This role will be supporting our research and development engineers, on a part-time basis (3 days a week or 60%).

 Areas of responsibility 

  • Produce prototypes of product designs (incl. drawings, CAD-models) in the product family Bolting
  • Support the research and development department, product line, production units and sales teams with prototyping and machining needs
  • Order of prototypes from internal and external suppliers
  • Reduce waiting time in research and development projects 
  • Enhance the functionality and productivity of environment testing equipment, such as the Bolt Installation Test
  • Enhance the functionality and productivity of laboratory testing equipment, such as the Universal Testing Machine
  • Conducts testing and inspections according to Sandvik methods and documents the method and results 

Your profile 

You will have a trade qualification, be comfortable working in a small team, sharing knowledge and working with best practice. You will have manual machining skills, fabrication skills and experience in laboratory and/or testing machinery operation is a plus.

You will be passionate about innovative thinking and solving problems. You will be well organised, self-motivated and able to manage workload independently. Sandvik will offer you the opportunity to develop professionally and be challenged technically on a regular basis.
