The Project Manager (PM) plays a crucial role at Sequana in planning, executing, and overseeing projects for our customers within our organisation. The Project Manager's responsibilities include leading and delivering small, medium, to major-scale projects and exceeding our clients' expectations. The Project Manager will proactively support the national team, constantly seeking to improve the way we deliver service to our clients and colleagues. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication abilities and a proven track record of successfully managing projects from initiation to completion.

What you do

  • Responsible for leading and delivering projects to the agreed safety, time, cost, and quality requirements.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary project teams, mentoring and developing talent, and identifying, attracting, and retaining top talent.
  • In collaboration with the Associate Director, Major Projects, select personnel, allocate work, monitor progress, and have overall responsibility for ensuring that work is prioritised and delivered effectively.
  • Be the primary interface between the project team and our clients.
  • Provide accurate monthly accounts and reports on the performance of the Projects.
  • Manage resources and budget to maintain effective quality, safety, and environmental management.
  • Elevate brand awareness of Sequana through networking at industry events.
  • Ensure all company activities adhere to legal guidelines and policies.
  • Identifying improvement gaps and implementing corrective measures.
  • Ensure the changes arising from the implementation of new strategies, policies/procedures, and initiatives are effectively applied.
  • Identify and engage with key stakeholders in the water and energy industry, including government agencies, water utilities, research institutions, environmental groups, and community organisations.
  • Cultivate and maintain collaborative relationships to facilitate information exchange, resource sharing, and joint initiatives.
  • Support the identification of new business opportunities and support business development to grow Sequana's business in the Energy and Environmental sector.
  • Support tender preparation and client engagement activities to enable growth in targeted sectors.

Who you are

Candidates should possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications or relevant credentials in project management, engineering, and/or business administration.
  • Min 6 years of industry experience with a thorough understanding of infrastructure projects, preferably within the Water sector.
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager, preferably in a consulting/advisory capacity.
  • A strong technical or commercial background is advantageous.
  • Excellent organisational, communication (both verbal and written), and leadership skills.
  • Strong knowledge of project management tools and software.
  • Ability to analyse data and draw insights within an ambiguous context.
  • Sound understanding of integrated management systems encompassing quality, safety, and environmental aspects.
  • Budgeting skills to manage time and cost effectively, and competing priorities.
  • Ability to perform under time pressure whilst providing high-quality outcomes in every aspect of work.
  • High level of business and personal ethics.
  • Proven commercial acumen including contractual management, tenders & bids, legal & procurement activities.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution abilities.
