As an
Employment Coach
, you'll walk alongside participants, helping them explore their skills, strengths and opportunities, and building pathways to meaningful work.
Locations: Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens & Singleton
About The Role
- Provide hands on coaching and case management to participants.
- Support people to identify career goals, build confidence and connect to training or skill development opportunities.
- Partner with local employers to create inclusive job opportunities, and workplace modifications where needed.
- Address both vocational and non-vocational barriers by linking participants to appropriate services.
- Maintain regular face-to-face contact, track progress and keep accurate records in line with compliance requirements.
- Contribute to a positive, participant-focused culture within Mai-Wel's Employment Services team.
About you
- Passionate about supporting people with disability or disadvantage into work.
- A strong communicator who can build trusting relationships with participants, families, employers, and community partners.
- Organised, proactive, and adaptable in a performance-based environment.
- Tech-savvy with the ability to manage caseloads, reporting and compliance systems.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Certificate III (or higher) in Employment Services, Community Services, Disability, or related field.
- Understanding of the challenges faced by people with disability or disadvantage when seeking employment.
- Ability to positively navigate challenges, resolve concerns, and provide tailored support that helps people with disability overcome barriers to employment
- Collaborative team player with a genuine commitment to fostering a positive and supportive culture
- Goal oriented with consistent achievement of KPIs and business performance expectations
- Current driver's licence.
Desirable:
Previous experience in employment services, DES, or disability support.
- Knowledge of the local labour market and strong employer networks.
