Are you ready to step into a sought-after leadership role in a chocolate-filled manufacturing environment? We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Manufacturing Team Leader - Cooking and Cutting on afternoon shift (1:45 pm - 10:00 pm), Monday to Friday, at our brand-new complex in Salisbury South. This role reports to the Senior Production Supervisor.
As the Team Leader for the Cooking and Cutting Team, you'll oversee a dedicated group responsible for producing the centres of our luxurious individual cabinet chocolates. A key part of their work involves cooking boiled products to precise recipe specifications and cutting batches to the correct size and weight. The team also operates specialised equipment such as the guillotine, Ultrasonic Cutter, roller, duster, and dehydrator.
In this role, you will:
Inspire and motivate a diverse team of machine operators to achieve exceptional outcomes.
Collaborate with the Senior Production Supervisor to drive continuous improvements and troubleshoot issues on the production line.
Foster teamwork across shifts and share resources to enhance operations.
Promote a culture of health and safety, ensuring compliance with regulations.
Ensure all team members accurately follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Identify and resolve machinery and quality issues promptly.
Oversee daily operations in your area, collaborating to exceed targets.
Contribute insights during toolbox talks and monthly meetings.
Manage team member scheduling and approvals for smooth operations.
What we're looking for:
Experience in manufacturing, preferably in food production.
Strong people management and excellent communication skills.
Willingness to embrace change and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Computer skills, with the ability to operate systems and complete online documentation.
Mechanical aptitude with problem-solving abilities.
A focus on continuous improvement, safety, and quality.
Experience in a cooking or kitchen environment is highly desirable but not essential.
There's never been a better time to join us as we move into our brand-new, multi-million-dollar complex in Salisbury South. Enjoy modern breakout spaces, a wellness room with massage chairs, games table, exercise equipment, and free on-site parking - all part of a supportive and growing business ready for its next chapter.
Inclusion matters at Haigh's. We believe that valuing differences in backgrounds, cultures, abilities and experiences helps create a workplace free from bias and prejudice. We're committed to making reasonable adjustments throughout our recruitment process and beyond, to ensure a barrier-free and supportive experience for all.
If you're great with people, enjoy solving problems and have a sweet spot for chocolate, we'd love to hear from you
