About the role

We're seeking a General Manager, Strategy & Impact to shape our long-term direction, expand our reach, and amplify our voice across government, commercial, and philanthropic sectors. Reporting directly to the CEO, you'll lead our Government Relations, Strategic Communications, Marketing and Research & Impact teams—ensuring our purpose resonates with policymakers, partners, and the communities we serve.

What you'll do 

  • Strategic Leadership:  Lead and evolve RANSW's vision into actionable strategies that drive sustainable growth and influence public policy.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and nurture relationships with government, media, and sector leaders to elevate RANSW's profile and impact.
  • Advocacy & Communications: Champion thought leadership and advocacy, ensuring consistent, compelling messaging across all channels.
  • Growth & Innovation: Secure funding, forge strategic partnerships, assess acquisitions, and lead future-focused initiatives.

What you'll bring

  • Leadership & Strategy: Minimum 5 years in senior leadership within complex organisations; NFP experience highly regarded.
  • Government Relations & Business Development Expertise: Proven success in influencing policy, securing funding, and navigating political landscapes.
  • Business Acumen: Strong background in strategic development, market analysis, and performance improvement.
  • Strategic Advocacy & External Engagement: Ability to represent RANSW externally, build  political relationships, and collaborate across teams to deliver consistent, impactful advocacy through media, grants, and research partnerships.
  • Personal Attributes: Purpose-driven, empathetic, innovative, and adaptable—ready to thrive in a transformational environment.
