Lead with impact as the Director of Nursing within the Office of the Chief Operating Officer, providing strong governance and oversight of operational performance, compliance, risk, and reporting. Lead a dedicated team to deliver high-quality board-level reporting, drive accountability for divisional outcomes, and ensure operational excellence aligns with Gold Coast Health's strategic objectives.
The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Director of Nursing (Performance, Scheduling and Access) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Lead operational performance and planning across the portfolio to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality care that meets organisational and systemwide targets
- Drive excellence in patient flow and access, partnering with executive leaders to optimise capacity and performance across all facilities
- Strengthen governance, risk, and compliance frameworks to ensure operational accountability, legislative adherence, and service quality
- Inspire and lead high-performing teams, fostering collaboration, readiness, and a culture of continuous improvement across the health service
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
- Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
- A Masters or higher qualification within a relevant area is highly desirable
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)
