Position Information

Blacktown Boys High School (Years 7–12) is a partially selective public school located on Darug land, within walking distance of the Blacktown CBD. With an enrolment of approximately 908 students, the school embraces a diverse student body, including 22.8% from non-English speaking backgrounds and 1.8% Aboriginal students. The school offers a range of educational pathways through its academically selective stream, High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) class, mainstream classes, and an Inclusive Education Unit.

Selection Criteria
  • Approval to teach Technology Mandatory (Years 7-8).
  • Willingness to teach Engineering Studies/Industrial Technology
  • In addition to the approved course to teach, the successful applicant should be willing to teach the new Technology Mandatory syllabus in collaboration with the faculty team.
  • Have a good understanding of Boys education in a culturally diverse setting and the ability to support Inclusive Education students.
Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

Special Notes

Applicants seeking either permanent full time or permanent part time employment are encouraged to apply for this position. If the recommended applicant is seeking permanent part time employment (FTE from 0.1 to 0.9 inclusive), they will be offered an appointment at their desired FTE. Applicants on the eligibility list will be offered the remaining FTE but are not obliged to accept. Further information can be found on the merit selection webpage.
