Fencing Supervisor

Our Fencing company is a long established contractor providing property repair and maintenance services throughout the Greater Sydney area.

In this challenging yet rewarding role as a Fencing Supervisor / estimator you will provide effective scoping / quoting, coordination, compliance and supervision of all field work conducted in the designated area of responsibility on all Land & Housing, Defence Housing, retirement village, and community housing contracts properties in relation to the contract KPIs of timeliness, planned works delivery and quality.

Key responsibilities includes (not limited to):

  • Identification, supervision and day-to-day control of subcontractors, including performance monitoring and recommendations on work allocation.
  • Quoting / scoping of fencing works for both private and government clients.
  • Communicate with staff and subcontractors to ensure that they are kept informed of any issues relating to contract performance and compliance.
  • Ensure that work site instructions are followed including Risk Assessments, Job Analysis, Hazard Identification, and in Process Inspections.
  • Ensure all works are being carried out as required by contract specification and appropriate standards/ building codes.
  • Coordinate resources including both manpower and equipment to achieve contract objectives.

Skills and Experience

  • Relevant experience in fencing , building inspection, construction site supervision/ inspection or quality inspection in the facilities management industry
  • Previous experience in community housing and Government contracts  is preferred
  • Qualified Supervisor Certificate (QSC) or Contractor Licence is desirable
  • OHS General Induction to Construction Certificate
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Relevant knowledge of Land and Housing Schedule of Rates (SOR)  codes

To be successful in this role you must have strong experience scoping with SOR Codes, managing subcontractors and trades staff. You are a go-getter willing to take on challenges combined with an ability to work flexibly and adaptively in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders.
