About usNECA Education & Careers provides training to the Electrical industry as a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) in our purpose-built facilities in both Carlton and Dandenong. This includes pre-apprenticeship, apprenticeship and our range of industry short courses.
As the electrical industry's sole joint Group Training / Registered Training Organisation, and the largest single employer and trainer of electrical apprentices in Victoria, NECA Education & Careers occupies a distinct space where apprenticeship employment and training converge.

The role, the EDGEWhat will your EDGE Training role involve at NECA Education & Careers?
- Candidates attend 2-day casual employment 'Try before Buy'- Sit in Sessions in Carlton North, so you can make an informed choice to ensure teaching is your suitable career, before jumping in to the program.
- EDGE trainers attend and observe classes, mentor, and carry out limited partial delivery through 24 supervised and scheduled days. As a part of the EDGE you are able to co develop, co deliver and co assess training programs and build your knowledge to become a great teacher
- While learning how to teach, you will independently enrol in a Certificate IV Training and Assessment, which you will work through as you continue to participate in your classroom delivery.
- You'll work in our great training organisation with a group of people who are really passionate about what they do

Skills and expertise:Yes, you must have a Grade A electrical licence and over 5 years industry experience. Also, a passion for making a difference and genuinely want to share your knowledge. You'll also need a Working with Children's Check (current employee version)
We wouldn't mind if you already had:Certificate IV in Training and Assessment - TAE but if not, we'll work with you to get it)

- We'll pay you as you train up to become a Teacher
- We'll support you the whole way through, following your lead as to where and how you need support to develop into an electrotechnology Teacher
We are seeking 3-4 EDGE participants to commence at our Carlton North campus where our current EDGE participants are at the tail end of their program, and looking to move into training positions within our business.
This teaching role starts at 7.00 am through to 3:30pm and can include weekend training if desired (let's chat about options)
