About the position

The Plant Operator (Grader) position will be responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of plant and equipment within the Toowoomba Region.  This position works as part of a multi-skilled team to complete program objectives for the maintenance and construction of Council's infrastructure networks.

This position will work under limited supervision.

• The base wage rate for this position is $1,298.72 gross per 38 hour week, plus 17.5% annual leave loading and up to 12.65% superannuation.
• This is a Permanent Full time position based at our Goombungee Depot.

How to be successful in this position - Success Criteria

• Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively in a team.
• Provide some assistance in planning, coordination, and supervision of day-to-day operations.
• Demonstrated ability to complete daily tasks neatly and correctly using sound numeracy, written, and communication skills. This includes performing job accounting tasks associated with plant hire, timesheets, stores documentation, and other documentation as required from time to time.
• Demonstrated ability to perform work at the trade or equivalent level in line with operational goals while operating and maintaining plant and equipment.
• Demonstrated understanding of the statutory requirements relevant to civil construction and the operation of plant including the ability to acquire knowledge of related policies and procedures.
• Ability and willingness to train other Grader operators in any aspect of operating a Grader in civil construction.
• Understanding of and commitment to Council's Organisational Value and Behaviour of Honesty.
