As a Senior Hydraulic Engineer at WSce, you will create advanced engineering design solutions, manage their construction, and provide expertise through commissioning and implementation.
You will lead medium to large-scale projects, ensuring precise and comprehensive technical outputs. You'll work with a team that sets the benchmark, redefines possibilities, embraces innovation and exceeds expectations.
Role specificsDesign Solutions
- Autonomously generate high-quality design solutions for clients, taking the lead on medium to large scale projects and serving as a technical authority to senior staff on intricate assignments.
- Thoroughly comprehend, interpret, and meet design requirements specified in client scope of work documents and project briefs, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of client objectives.
- Produce precise and comprehensive technical drawings, calculations, and well-structured design reports that adhere to internal standards, such as the Internal Business Manual, relevant policies, and external standards like ISO9001 and applicable legislation.
- Conduct thorough research and validation of appropriate design solutions, ensuring accurate and detailed information is readily available and leveraging advanced techniques and methodologies.
- Develop comprehensive tests to verify the effectiveness of design solutions, ensuring their fitness for purpose, and actively engage in peer reviews to enhance quality assurance.
- Perform critical analysis of existing design solutions, identifying complex faults and proposing innovative remediations to optimise performance and efficiency.
- Provide meticulous and comprehensive handover documentation to the construction team, demonstrating exceptional attention to detail and remaining readily available to interpret design recommendations as needed.
- Conduct regular site inspections, meticulously reviewing contractors' work, and prepare comprehensive site inspection reports that encompass all facets of construction.
- Collaborate with project team members to review contractors' shop drawings and RFIs, applying advanced problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex issues promptly.
- Accurately input and manage data within project management, time recording, and financial systems, providing regular status reports on deliverables, promptly identifying critical issues, and suggesting effective resolutions.
- Demonstrate a deep commitment to adhering to project budget and delivery timeframes, proactively identifying and mitigating risks to planned delivery, scope creep, or variations to design briefs, ensuring minimal disruption to project progress.
- Maintain meticulous records of all input data influencing design decisions, ensuring a comprehensive and well-documented decision-making process.
- Exhibit exceptional organisational skills, keeping all internal records up to date, including performance tracking tools, training records, goal progression, and position advancement.
As a Senior Hydraulic Services Engineer, you bring exceptional hydraulic experience, strong project management skills, and thorough technical expertise. You are confident in communicating with clients and business partners and are dedicated to contributing to our team's success culture.
You have a strong understanding of compliance requirements, are fluent in design standards, and have experience delivering complex projects while guiding and reviewing less experienced staff. You excel at developing client relationships and introducing new clients to our services. With strong people skills, you can create effective training materials and guide others.
Technically adept, you are proficient in design and project management software, and are well-versed in practice management systems and project management concepts.
Ideal Skills & Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably in the fields of either Mechanical, Building Services, or Civil engineering), with a master's degree or equivalent highly regarded.
- Strong consideration will also be given to candidates holding a Diploma of Engineering, Diploma of Construction, Diploma or Associate Diploma in Plumbing Services, or a Certificate IV in Plumbing and Services.
- At least 10 years' experience, preferably in a consulting environment.
- Extensive expertise in engineering principles and a proven track record of proposing design solutions for various client needs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Intermediate/advanced knowledge of and skills in Engineering & Project Management software/platforms including Revit, AutoCAD, Procore, Bluebeam and ACONEX.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Recognised as a team player with strong organisational skills and clear communication.
- Demonstrated effective problem-solving skills through meticulous evaluation of various data sources and informed decision-making.
- Exceptional project management abilities, consistently delivering within strict time, cost, and quality parameters while building and leveraging effective relationships with stakeholders, both internal and external.
