THE OPPORTUNITY

Downer's
Energy & Utilities
business is seeking casual
Special Class Welders
to provide outage services at Tarong Power Station in Tarong, QLD. Starting in
early September 2025
, Downer will offer mechanical and project services throughout the outage period. As a Special Class Welder, you will apply your expertise in piping setup, structural and welding fabrication, ensuring that all work is completed safely, effectively, and to the required standards.

ABOUT YOU

  • Site Proficient:
    Experienced in outages and projects in the power generation or heavy industrial sector
  • Team Oriented:
    Have an ability to work effectively within a team with well-developed communication skills
  • Workplace Safety:
    Committed to the safety and wellbeing of yourself and your colleagues
  • Qualifications:

Enter and work in confined spaces (RIIWHS202E), Working at heights (RIIWHS204E) (within 2 years), Construction white card
- Trade certificate
: All Welding qualifications will be required to complete an onsite weld test.
