The opportunity

  • Fixed Term (2 years), full-time position based at Cherry Creek, Melbourne.
  • VPS grade 3 role: $79,122 - $96,073 per year plus superannuation.
  • Operate as a part of a team to provide high level services such as carpentry, welding, and the installation and general maintenance of fittings, glazing, locks, etc. and amenities within the Youth Justice Custodial Services' infrastructure.
  • Ensure that all works comply with the Building Code of Australia (BCA) and other Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) and building regulations and standards as required.
  • Under direction, liaise with internal and external stakeholders including tradespeople and suppliers and accurately process the receipt of goods deliveries.
  • Take initiative to recommend process and system improvements to be applied for the local work area.

To be successful in this role you will have experience in building inspecting, problem resolution, cost estimation and maintenance repairs for general building and construction works within commercial parameters or custodial environment.

You will be required to obtain a Working with Children Check (WWCC) to be maintained by the employee for the period of employment.
