About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Leading Hand Machine Operator to join our fast-paced manufacturing team at Slab Technologies Pty Ltd in Smeaton Grange, NSW. In this full-time role, you will lead a team of machine operators, ensuring efficient and effective production processes while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.

What you'll be doing

  • Supervise and coordinate a team of machine operators, providing guidance, training and support to ensure optimal performance
  • Monitor production schedules and workflow, making adjustments as needed to meet targets and deadlines
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues with machinery, implement corrective actions, and liaise with maintenance teams
  • Ensure all production activities comply with company policies, safety protocols and quality standards
  • Provide regular feedback and performance evaluations for your team members
  • Assist in the development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with other departments to optimise production processes and achieve business objectives

What we're looking for

  • Extensive experience as a machine operator, with a proven track record of leading and supervising a team
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to quickly identify and resolve issues
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively motivate and manage a team
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety, with a thorough understanding of relevant regulations
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Relevant experience in a manufacturing or engineering discipline
