About the Role
Reporting to the Innovation & Applications Manager, this hands-on role is responsible for driving product innovation within our Cooked Meals, Sauces, and Meat Components portfolio. You will work collaboratively across departments to take product concepts from ideation through to commercial launch, ensuring alignment with business objectives in quality, cost efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
This position offers a high level of autonomy and the opportunity to work closely with suppliers, production, and technical teams to deliver state-of-the-art, commercially viable products that reflect current market trends and customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Innovation & Applications Manager in developing and improving product lines across multiple categories.
- Conduct research, formulation, and testing of new product concepts from bench to commercial scale.
- Analyse market and consumer insights to identify emerging trends and new product opportunities.
- Collaborate with production and quality teams to scale up lab prototypes into pilot and full-scale manufacturing.
- Maintain accurate documentation of formulations, trials, and specifications in line with company and regulatory standards.
- Present technical findings, product performance data, and recommendations to internal stakeholders.
- Liaise with suppliers and cross-functional teams to ensure efficient product development timelines and outcomes.
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related discipline.
- 2–3 years' experience in product development, R&D, or food applications (preferably within the cooked meals, sauces, or meat category).
- Strong understanding of food formulation, ingredient functionality, and process development.
- Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and product development software.
