The Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Workshop Controller to join our busy service centre in Ryde. This is a full-time role responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our busy automotive repair workshop. As Workshop Controller, you will oversee all aspects of the workshop, from job scheduling and parts ordering to staff management and quality control. You will play a crucial role in overseeing the efficient operation of our workshop, ensuring customer satisfaction and maximising productivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate workshop activities, including job scheduling, resource allocation, and technician assignments.
  • Ensure on-time completion of jobs.
  • Manage the workshop team, including delegating tasks, providing training, and monitoring performance.
  • Oversee the ordering and inventory management of parts and supplies.
  • Prepare reports and analyse workshop data to identify areas for improvement
  • Collaborate with the management team to drive continuous improvement across the business
  • Ensure adherence to service standards and quality control measures.
  • Troubleshoot automotive issues.
  • Liaise with internal staff and management to ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintain a positive and customer-focused work environment.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Workshop Controller or Foreman in a similar automotive environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of automotive systems and repairs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Current Australian automotive trade license or be nearing completion.
  • Current NSW driver's license.
