Geotechnical Engineer

About the role

KFM Geotech is seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join our Geotechnical engineering team in Castle Hill, NSW. As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting our clients by providing expert technical advice and solutions. This is a full-time position that offers the opportunity to work on a variety of exciting projects within the construction and geotechnical industries.

What you'll be doing

1. Conducting comprehensive site investigations, including soil and rock sampling, testing, analysis and reporting
2. Providing geotechnical design and engineering services for construction phase services, shoring design, slope stability assessments, and foundation design
3. Preparing detailed reports, specifications, and drawings to support project requirements
4. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are met
5. Monitoring and inspecting construction activities to ensure compliance with geotechnical standards
6. Providing technical support and expert advice to clients throughout the project lifecycle

What we're looking for

1. A Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field
2. Minimum 5 years of experience as a Geotechnical Engineer, preferably in the construction sector
3. Demonstrated expertise in geotechnical site investigations, soil and rock mechanics, and foundation design
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide practical, cost-effective solutions
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
6. Proficiency in geotechnical software and tools, such as PLAXIS, GeoStudio, and AutoCAD
7. Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or equivalent is highly desirable
8. NSW Full Driver Licence
