Join a growing game development studio in Chatswood where you'll work on complex, high-traffic web and game interfaces used by players around the world. This is a hands-on engineering role building robust front-end systems, not just basic UI tweaks.

What you will be doing

  • Building and maintaining complex front-end applications using

    ,
    TypeScript
    , and
    modern JavaScript (ES6+)
    .
  • Designing and implementing reusable component libraries, state management patterns and front-end architecture.
  • Integrating front end with

    services and REST/GraphQL APIs, including handling authentication, error states and performance edge cases.
  • Profiling and optimising performance (bundle size, rendering, memoization, caching strategies).
  • Contributing to code quality through code reviews, testing and continuous improvement of engineering practices.
  • Collaborating closely with designers, artists and backend engineers to ship new features frequently.

What you bring

  • 4+ years
    of professional experience as a Front-End / Software Engineer.
  • Strong experience with

    and
    TypeScript
    building complex, production-grade applications.
  • Solid understanding of
    modern JavaScript
    (ES6+), asynchronous programming, and browser APIs.
  • Practical experience with

    (APIs, SSR or build tooling).
  • Experience with Git-based workflows and
    CI/CD
    pipelines.
  • Ability to break down complex software problems into clear, testable solutions.

Nice to have

  • Mandarin
    language skills for occasional collaboration with offshore teammates (nice to have, not essential).
  • Experience with

    , WebSockets or real-time features.
  • Testing experience (Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright or Cypress).
  • Exposure to game development, graphics or animation (Canvas, WebGL, PixiJS, , etc.).

Salary, setup and requirements

  • Salary:
    A$110k–A$125k + super (depending on experience).
  • Location:
    Chatswood studio, on-site 5 days per week.
  • Start:
    As soon as practical.
  • Work rights:
    Full Australian working rights required (no sponsorship available).
