The Opportunities:
- 1 x Full-Time, Ongoing contract.
- 1 x Full-Time, Fixed-Term contract until 30 October 2026.
- TL $86,928 - $123,284 per annum pro rata + 12% super + leave loading (dependent on qualifications and experience).

The Design and Finishing Trades Department at Holmesglen delivers a diverse range of programs spanning Fashion and Interior design, Furniture Design, Cabinet Making, Joinery, Shopfitting, Auto Marine trimming and Upholstery, Trowel trades, Painting, and Printing. Our offerings support students across various stages of their educational journey, with qualifications ranging from Certificate II through to advanced diplomas and degree-level programs.
These two roles offer a rewarding opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-quality education and training within a dynamic and supportive environment. You will play a key role in the full learning and teaching cycle—from guiding students through course selection to designing and delivering engaging, inclusive, and industry-relevant learning experiences. Drawing on your expertise, you will develop and implement assessment tools aligned with the RTO Standards 2025, relevant training packages, TAS documentation, Holmesglen procedures, and funding requirements. The position also involves creating high impact learning resources, building strong industry partnerships, and collaborating with academic teams to coordinate courses and drive continuous improvement. Your work will directly support student success and help shape the future workforce.
As a Teacher in Furniture, Joinery and Manufacturing you will:
- Develop and implement innovative teaching and learning strategies to meet the diverse needs of learners, fostering an inclusive learning environment, providing support and advice to students from diverse cultures, backgrounds, and abilities.
- Provide or arrange additional educational support for individual students as identified in the pre-training review, and plan, implement, and evaluate teaching and learning strategies to support student progress.
- Develop and deliver high-quality teaching resources and assessment materials across a range of agreed units, subjects, and courses in multiple learning modes and at various locations. Conduct assessments in accordance with the Principles of Assessment, Rules of Evidence, and Holmesglen policies, rules, procedures, and guidelines. Record student attendance and retain evidence of participation for all units delivered.
- Participate in the delivery of teaching and educational services to industry, including workplace visits, assessment of training needs, development of training plans, and the effective delivery of courses tailored to client requirements. Liaise with industry and community stakeholders to develop and customise training solutions.
- Provide comprehensive student support, including pre-course advice and participation in student selection, induction activities, and promotional events such as Open Days, Information Nights, and Expos.
To be successful, you'll have:
- An approved degree, diploma or certificate in a relevant vocational area, or approved equivalent qualifications, at least to the level being delivered and assessed; and
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE 40122 or TAE40116 or TAE40110) or its successor; or
An approved diploma or higher-level qualification in adult education or vocational education and training; or
A secondary teaching qualification and one of the following credentials:
- TAESS00011 Assessor Skill Set, or
- *TAESS00019 Assessor Skill Set or its successor, or
TAESS00024 VET Delivered to School Students Teacher Enhancement Skill Set or its successor.*
Current licences necessary to practice, or registration and/or membership of a relevant industry association where applicable.
- WWCC and Police Check: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining an 'employee' Working with Children Check, and a valid Police Check within the last 12 months.
