Caulfield, Victoria, Australia Monash University Full time $90,000 - $120,000 per year

The Opportunity

The Centre for Health Economics is seeking a Level A Research Fellow to play a key role in an ongoing research program examining the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of behavioural interventions, with a particular focus on financial incentives designed to promote safer and lower carbon driving. In this role, you will contribute to the estimation and extrapolation of treatment effects from trial data, modelling the broader economic impact of implementing such incentives at different scales. You will also analyse high-frequency telematics data to evaluate the micro-effects of incentives and their cessation. This is a cross-disciplinary project, and the successful candidate will collaborate closely with psychologists, epidemiologists and statisticians from multiple Australian universities, making an important contribution to advancing evidence in this emerging field.

As the successful candidate, you must have a graduate qualification in behavioural economics and quantitative methods, together with experience in handling high-frequency data and conducting both trial-based and modelled economic evaluations. You will demonstrate a strong understanding of the design and evaluation of behavioural interventions, particularly the use of financial incentives, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of an inter-disciplinary research team. Your high-level organisational skills will enable you to establish and achieve goals, while your excellent written and oral communication skills will support collaboration and dissemination of research outcomes. You will also bring advanced computer skills, with specific expertise in analytical software such as TreeAge and STATA or R.
