Support Patient Travel Services at Beaudesert Hospital

Metro South Health is seeking a dedicated Patient Travel Officer to join the Administration Services team at Beaudesert Hospital. This temporary part-time AO3 role (53.2 hours per fortnight) supports the delivery of the Patient Travel Subsidy Scheme (PTSS) and provides essential administrative support across a 24/7 rotating roster in a busy, varied and community-focused rural hospital environment.

Your new role:

In this role, you will provide efficient and confidential administrative support to ensure patients can access the Patient Travel Subsidy Scheme and receive timely, accurate assistance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Processing and assessing PTSS applications in line with departmental procedures and PTSS Guidelines.
  • Ensuring accurate documentation, scanning, data entry and maintenance of PTIMS and other hospital systems.
  • Assisting patients, clinicians and staff by providing clear information, guidance and high-quality administrative support.

About you:

You are an organised, patient-focused administration professional with strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a busy healthcare environment.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of office procedures and experience delivering accurate, confidential administrative support.
  • Communicates clearly and respectfully, adapting communication style to meet the needs of diverse patients and stakeholders.
  • Builds positive client relationships, using problem-solving and negotiation skills to support patients experiencing stress or vulnerability.

Beaudesert Hospital is a rural hospital in Queensland's Scenic Rim region with a rich history of healthcare that spans more than 120 years. We provide rural healthcare across a large geographic area south-west of Logan and the Gold Coast with patients who see us coming from Undullah in the north-west right down to the southern Queensland border. We offer services to adults and children, including 24-hour emergency care, maternity, mental, dental, allied health and outpatient clinics, minor surgery and palliative care.

We're a smaller hospital that offer hands-on training and support to our staff and students. As a secondary teaching hospital, we also have strong partnerships with Queensland's leading medical schools, universities, and TAFE Queensland.
