Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia Department of Health - Queensland Full time

Be the driving force behind safer, smarter healthcare as the Clinical Nurse Consultant – Project Officer shaping infection prevention and control for the new Toowoomba Hospital. This is your opportunity to lead high-impact change, guide teams with your expertise, and help design a future-focused care environment. If you're ready to make your mark on a landmark health project, this role puts you at the centre of it all.

Your day will include guiding teams through best-practice standards, reviewing emerging risks, shaping clinical models of care, and providing expert advice that supports informed executive decision-making. You'll lead quality and safety initiatives, mentor staff across disciplines, refine policies and protocols, and bring clarity and structure to complex project activities. Through every interaction, you'll influence positive culture, strengthen safe care, and drive improvements that uplift both staff and patient experiences.

  • Dignity – you treat others with respect, display reasonableness and take pride in what you do.
  • Innovation – you embrace change and strive to know more, learn more and do better.
  • Courage – you respectfully question for clarity and have the strength and confidence to Speak Up.
