About the role

Cafe Lewi is seeking passionate and experienced full-time and casual baristas to join our vibrant team in Lewisham, NSW. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a key role within a new cafe, serving up delicious coffee and exceptional customer service to our loyal customers. As a barista at Cafe Lewi, you will play a crucial part in the culture for excellent coffee and creating an inviting atmosphere for our guests.

What you'll be doing

  1. Prepare and serve high-quality espresso-based beverages, including cappuccinos, lattes, flat whites, and more.
  2. Use your expertise to ensure consistent, exceptional coffee quality and presentation
  3. Provide friendly and efficient customer service, responding to customer queries and feedback
  4. Maintain a clean and well-organised workspace, following strict hygiene and safety protocols
  5. Assist with general cafe duties such as stocking, cleaning and restocking as required
  6. Collaborate with the front-of-house team to deliver a seamless dining experience for our customers
  7. RSA service. Be able to obtain or already have an RSA for serving and preparing alcohol and alcohol beverages.

What we're looking for

  1. At least 1-2 year of previous experience as a barista in a cafe or similar fast-paced hospitality environment
  2. A passion for coffee and a strong understanding of coffee-making techniques, equipment and latte art.
  3. Excellent customer service skills and a friendly, professional demeanour
  4. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  5. Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including weekends
  6. A current Food Safety Handling Certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
  7. RSA service. Be able to obtain or already have an RSA
