Role Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with, be mentored and developed by a Finance Director while gaining exposure across multiple categories, stakeholders, and strategic initiatives.

This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is looking to build a strong foundation in commercial finance, FP&A, and business partnering within a fast-paced FMCG environment.

As a Commercial Analyst, you will play a role in supporting category performance and profitability, while driving insights that enable strategic decision-making. You'll take ownership of a category P&L and support other key growth categories.

You'll be hands-on with reporting, analytics, and insights, helping to shape financial performance and influence commercial outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Marketing, Sales, and Supply Chain to drive decision-making and strategic initiatives.
• Analyse category trends, competitors, and investment opportunities to influence strategy.
• Deliver insights on profitability across categories, channels, and customers; support pricing, promotions, and trade spend effectiveness.
• Manage a category P&L and aim to improve profitability
• Lead consolidated reporting, maintain central trackers, and deliver timely dashboards/KPIs.
• Support budgets, forecasts, and long-term planning cycles with variance analysis and commentary.
• Enhance reporting tools and processes to enable more efficient, data-driven decision-making.

Candidate Profile

You are curious, proactive, and tenacious, seeking an early-career opportunity to build a strong foundation in commercial finance, FP&A, and business partnering within a fast-paced FMCG environment.

You are degree-qualified in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline, with CA, CPA, or CIMA accreditation desirable but not mandatory.

You bring 1-2 years' experience in commercial finance, FP&A, consulting, or finance business analysis, ideally with exposure to FMCG, retail, or multinational organisations.

You have financial modelling skills and are skilled in Excel, Power BI, and Power Pivot. You are a problem-solver, able to turn numbers into actionable insights.

Flexible and adaptable, you thrive when working across multiple categories and stakeholders, navigating ambiguity, and contributing to strategic initiatives.
