We are a successful funky and modern Café. We are currently seeking a Cook to join our team. This is going to be a full-time position (38 hours p/w).
The role involves preparing and cooking menu items to our high standards, ensuring a clean and organized kitchen, and collaborating with other staff members to deliver exceptional service. Some of the responsibilities listed below:
- Prepare all ingredients ready by washing and cutting, and cooking all levels of dishes.
- Season and cook food according to our recipes and/or personal judgement and experience.
- Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure observance of safe, sanitary food-handling practices.
- Verify that prepared food meets requirements for quality and quantity. Operate the cooking appliance such as stoves and ovens and maintain the good working conditions at all time.
- Control stocks by estimating food consumption then purchase supplies and procure food from storage.
- Clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces and utensils.
- Coordinate and supervise work of kitchen staff.
To be considered for this position you must have:
- Have a passion for food.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a cafe.
- Qualified cook is favarouble
- Have knowledge of food safety and hygiene producers.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a very fast paced café/restaurant with a very high volume of covers.
- Ability to work as a team & responsible to work on your own
