About the Company
Our client is a high-growth, private equity-backed organisation headquartered in Sydney, with a rapidly expanding portfolio of B2C businesses across Australia. Following an aggressive acquisition strategy our client has created this newly established role of Marketing Director.
This is a mission-driven business with ambitious growth targets, backed by experienced Private Equity and led by a values-driven leadership team.
About the Role
This newly created Marketing Director role offers a rare opportunity to build a marketing function from the ground up, starting with hands-on implementation in early acquisitions, then scaling systems, playbooks, and frameworks across the broader group. You'll be responsible for designing and deploying a scalable, data-led marketing playbook focused on customer acquisition, digital performance, and conversion, helping each operating company lift performance while respecting their unique brand and market context. You'll work closely with senior leadership across Operations, Integration, Finance, and People.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a repeatable local marketing playbook that supports customer acquisition and brand growth across decentralised B2C service businesses.
- Lead hands-on marketing execution in the first wave of portfolio companies, including digital performance, SEO, paid media, CRM, and conversion rate optimisation.
- Conduct marketing audits and establish attribution models.
- Deploy and integrate key marketing systems and tools to drive full-funnel visibility and decision-making.
- Set up dashboards, business reviews, vendor scorecards, team cadences to embed marketing into the operating system.
- Build strong relationships with local business leaders, understanding what's working and guiding uplift without taking over their voice or ownership.
Skills and Experience
- Proven success leading marketing in multi-location, B2C services, ideally with sales environments with short sales cycles.
- Deep expertise in digital acquisition, customer journey design, and local market penetration.
- Strong grasp of demand generation metrics and direct influence on P&L.
- Experience designing scalable CRM/lifecycle programs, conversion rate optimisation strategies, and attribution models.
- Demonstrated ability to build and scale marketing capability across a portfolio or decentralised structure.
- High EQ and humility, able to build trust quickly with local leaders and support them.
- A pragmatic, hands-on leader with the ability to operate in a fast-moving, sometimes ambiguous environment.
