The Opportunity

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced casual sommelier or junior sommelier to provide outstanding service at The Atlantic. You will play a key role in guiding our guests through our wine list, offering recommendations that will complement their dining choices. You will be responsible for delivering exceptional wine service, sharing your knowledge with guests and team members, and contributing to the overall success of our wine program.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide expert wine recommendations and pairings to enhance the guest dining experience
  • Present and serve wines in a professional and engaging manner
  • Educate guests and staff on wine selections, including origin, varietals, and tasting notes
  • Assist in managing the wine cellar, including inventory and stock rotations
  • Adaptable, flexible and able to work in a high pressure environment
  • Uphold The Atlantic's commitment to excellence in all aspects of the service

Key Requirements

  • For Sommeliers: Proven experience in a similar role within a premium dining environment
  • For Junior Sommeliers: Previous experience in a front-of-house role with an interest in wine
  • Basic knowledge of wine regions, varietals, and wine service techniques
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage guests and staff alike
  • Valid RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certificate
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
  • A positive attitude, team spirit, and a genuine passion for hospitality
