About the role
Are you passionate about shaping the future of energy networks? Join us as a Future Networks Strategy Specialist and play a pivotal role in driving Essential Energy's transition to a smarter, more sustainable grid. In this role, you'll contribute strategic insights and analytical expertise to support the integration of distributed energy resources and the development of innovative non-network solutions. You'll help shape long-term strategies and initiatives that align with our corporate objectives, balancing performance, innovation, and cost-effectiveness.
This role can be based anywhere within Essential Energy's operational footprint.

You're a forward-thinking strategist with a strong understanding of the energy sector and a passion for innovation. You thrive in collaborative environments, enjoy solving complex problems, and are driven to make a meaningful impact on the future of energy. Your ability to communicate effectively and influence stakeholders at all levels sets you apart.
About your skills
- Strong strategic planning and commercial awareness
- Excellent data analysis, modelling, and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to simplify complex issues and coordinate cross-functional teams
- Deep understanding of customer and network behaviour
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in business systems and reporting tools
- A continuous improvement mindset with a focus on innovation
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience and/or qualifications
Desired experience
- Experience in the electricity distribution sector, particularly with innovative technology programs
- Proven leadership in strategic and delivery teams
- Familiarity with Australian electricity regulations and legislative processes
- Experience in business strategy execution, policy development, and process automation
- Background in Business, Commerce, or Economics (desirable)
