The Financial Accountant is responsible for delivering accurate month-end reporting, cash flow forecasting, tax compliance, and financial analysis. The role also involves enhancing financial systems, managing fleet coordination, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure smooth financial operations.

Description

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Ensure month end journals (accruals, prepayments, depreciation etc) are processed timely and accurately
  • Complete monthly balance sheet account reconciliations with an orderly and transparent approach
  • Prepare project margin calculations
  • Meet month end closing procedures and timelines
  • Accurately prepare and maintain 6 weekly accurate cashflow forecast and provide to head entity with weekly funding requirements
  • Complete monthly BAS reconciliation and lodgements on time
  • Collate and submit FBT data and analysis for external accountants as required
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies and provide support for year-end audit
  • Contribute towards the development and ongoing improvement of the financial management systems, policies and procedures
  • Initiate and lead new process improvements as required
  • Ensure Intercompany AP/AR and loan reconciliations are completed accurately
  • Provide support for AP & AR functions as needed
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial guidance and support
  • Assist the team with any other project work as required

Profile

To be successful in this role you MUST have:

  • CA / CPA or working towards
  • Big 4 / Mid Tier background or Construction experience is highly favourable
  • Experience in Financial accounting and reporting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Intermediate / Advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to work autonomously
