About us

Italia Stone Group is a privately owned quarrying and civil construction contractor which has been operating in WA since 1954. Our core services include Coastal Defence Works (groynes, seawalls, marinas, revetments), Land Development (subdivisions), Civil Construction and Quarrying. Our dynamic team have won multiple awards for the marine construction projects we have carried out around the coast of Western Australia over the years.

Qualifications & experience

  • Previous 50T Float, preferably with a minimum 2-5 years working experience
  • Current MC Drivers Licence, with Road Ranger experience
  • Commercial Drivers Medical
  • White Card
  • Able to work unsupervised, is punctual, well organised and is clean & tidy
  • Able to commit for ongoing, overnight and weekend work as required
  • Experience in Over Dimensional & Over Mass Loads
  • Experience with loading & unloading Machinery on float
  • Basic mechanical knowledge preferred, but not essential
  • Certificate in Load Restraint preferred, but not essential
  • Strong knowledge around OH&S and Chain of Responsibility
  • Tipper & flat top work

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Pre-Operational Checks: Inspecting the truck & low loader for any mechanical issues before operation, including checking tires, brakes, lights, and load securing systems to ensure everything is in good working condition.
  • Loading and Unloading: Safely loading and unloading equipment or machinery onto the low loader, using proper lifting and securing techniques to prevent damage during transport.
  • Secure Cargo: Ensuring that all loads are properly secured to the vehicle, using straps, chains, and other tie-down equipment to prevent shifting or falling during transit.
  • Transportation: Safely driving the low loader to the designated location, ensuring that all routes and roads are clear, and adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Compliance with Safety Regulations: Adhering to all safety protocols and industry regulations, including wearing protective equipment and ensuring that the load does not exceed legal weight limits.
  • Documentation: Keeping accurate records of each transport, including delivery receipts, inspection logs, and any issues encountered during transit.
  • Additional: Tipper & flat top work as and when required.
