It's a really exciting time in energy. Help us make a real impact on shaping a better, more sustainable future.

We're looking for a Capability Partner to join our team and support our people across Australia, New Zealand, and Japan.

In this role, you'll act as a trusted advisor to managers and leaders - providing guidance on employee relations matters, fostering positive workplace culture, and ensuring fair, consistent, and legally compliant people practices across the region.

This role is both strategic and hands-on, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, cross-cultural environment and is passionate about creating an inclusive, supportive employee experience. You'll partner closely with our global PeopleOps team and regional stakeholders to proactively address people challenges, coach leaders, and support employee growth and well-being - no matter where they're based.

What you'll be doing

Empowering People Managers

Partner with managers to guide them through day-to-day people matters - offering tools, coaching, and advice to help them lead confidently and effectively.

Support performance conversations, growth discussions, and (when necessary) complex or sensitive situations, ensuring fairness, empathy, and alignment with local practices and employment laws.

Localise and embed our global performance and development frameworks in a way that makes sense across Australia, New Zealand, and Japan.

Navigating Mobility and Regional Transitions

Ensure smooth employee experiences for internal moves, international secondments, and cross-functional transitions within the APAC region.

Act as the key contact for employee mobility and partner with internal teams on cross-border compliance, documentation, and support.

Bringing People Strategy to Life

Work with regional leaders and our global PeopleOps team to roll out people programs and priorities that support engagement, development, and retention.

Use data and employee feedback to inform strategic decisions, identify trends, and shape tailored people solutions.

Advising on Structure, Change & Conflict

Coach leaders through organisational design, team changes, and leadership challenges with a strategic and people-first mindset.

Lead or support mediation and conflict resolution processes when needed - ensuring fair outcomes and reinforcing a positive employee experience.

Collaborate with the L&D team to identify capability gaps and help design learning programs that address real needs in the region.

Fostering Culture & Wellbeing

Monitor team engagement and wellbeing across locations, and work with managers to take proactive steps when challenges arise.

Champion inclusive practices that respect local cultures while reinforcing our global values.

Lead or support initiatives that foster belonging and bring our culture to life - both in-person and in hybrid/remote environments.

Supporting Regional and Global Projects

Contribute to global People team projects that enhance our people experience and company growth.

Support integration of new teams or acquisitions from a people and culture perspective.

Represent the People team in external partnerships or events to help strengthen our employer brand across the region.

You'll thrive in this role if you...
  • Have solid experience in People and Employee Relation space, with a strong focus on the APAC region (especially Australia, New Zealand).
  • Know how to balance strategic thinking with getting things done.
  • Have strong knowledge of employment practices and labor laws in Australia and NewZealand - experience of the same within Japan is preferable.
