We're seeking a Winemaker to join our team on a 12-month maximum-term contract to cover maternity leave. Reporting to the General Manager, this hands-on role leads cellar and production operations, ensuring quality, innovation and consistency across the Maxwell and Fox Creek ranges.

In close collaboration with our Vineyard Manager this role involves overseeing the vines of our estate to ensure attention to detail is consistent from fruit-set to final blends.

What you'll do

  • Lead winemaking and cellar operations to deliver wines of exceptional quality.
  • Oversee and mentor your cellar and vineyard team of 4 long-term employees, fostering teamwork and professional growth.
  • Manage production schedules, grape supply, budgets and bottling programs.
  • Drive innovation and quality improvement while ensuring style remains aligned with brand objectives.
  • Represent at member tastings, trade and industry events.

What we're looking for

  • Tertiary qualification in Oenology or related field.
  • Proven experience in premium wine production and leadership.
  • Strong technical knowledge, communication and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to sustainability, safety and continuous improvement.
