An exciting opportunity awaits, highly motivated and experienced production Excavator Operators to operate in our production excavator fleet as part of the mining operations. Your role will be to operate our 400t class excavators, L9400 and EX3600, which are used to load shot rock and coal. If you are committed to Safety, have a positive & supportive can-do attitude that will contribute to our great team culture, then we want to hear from you

This position offers the flexibility to live locally or DIDO on a 7 days on 7 days off rotating day and night shift roster. The Blair Athol Coal mine is located an easy 20 minute commute from the family-friendly township of Clermont in Central Queensland, 120 km northwest of the FIFO hub of Emerald and an easy driving distance from nearby coastal communities.

The role responsibilities will be to;

  • You will be responsible for the attainment of production targets relating to the excavator operations

  • Identify, report and act on all hazards whilst complying with the Health, Safety and Environment Management System

  • Maintain cleanliness of all work areas

  • Have a demonstrated positive work ethic

  • Be an effective team player

  • Uncompromising commitment to safety and the environment

  • Sound judgement, decision-making and problem-solving

  • Flexible in approach and able to deal with ambiguity

What you can bring to the role

To play a part in our ongoing success we are seeking candidates with:

  • Have previous production Excavator experience on either L9400 or EX3600 (or similar) with GPS production systems.

  • Experience operating in a mining environment.

  • A positive can-do attitude with a strong passion for safety improving mining efficiencies.

  • Interpretation of dig plans.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A willingness to try new ways of operating and a drive for continuous improvement.
