Role Description

This is a contract role for a WHS Business Partner with a local government organisation. The WHS Business Partner will be responsible for overseeing and implementing workplace health and safety (WHS) policies, conducting risk assessments, and providing advice and training to employees to ensure compliance with safety regulations. This is a hybrid role located in Sydney, NSW, with some work-from-home flexibility.

Essential Criteria

  • Experience in implementing Safety Management System processes and procedures.
  • High level knowledge of WHS legislative framework, current trends and industry best practice.
  • Knowledge of local government regulations and compliance requirements
  • Previous industry, trade or health related professional background.
  • RTW Coordinator accreditation and experience.
  • Previous experience with the requirements of the Workers Compensation Self Insurers Model.
  • Safety Management System auditing experience

Qualifications

  • Experience in workplace health and safety (WHS) management and implementation
  • Skills in conducting risk assessments and creating safety plans
  • Knowledge of local government regulations and compliance requirements
  • Strong communication and training skills to effectively educate employees on WHS policies
  • Problem-solving skills to address safety issues proactively and effectively
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Relevant certifications in workplace health and safety are beneficial
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field
